Trend | Dopamine for Hounds And Their Humans

With the blossoms starting to open and the sun’s cheeky appearance, Basil and I are having lots of happy feels, and as spotted in Grazia a few issues back, the Dopamine trend is totally capturing our vibe. Should you be scratching your head over WTF dopamine means, the urban dictionary defines it as 'the kick ass chemical in your brain that makes you feel and do happy things’. So get down with the dopamine trend with our favourite hound and human buys.

Christmas Wish List | The Cat-arama Edition

I have cats, two of them, although on account of their extreme shy-ness they are seldom seen let alone stars of any of my pet photo-shoots. But between the BF and I, and their grandparents, they get gifts too so here are just a few things Santa Paws can feel free drop off this Christmas for their pussycat pleasure!

Christmas Wish List | For The Dog Who Has (Nearly) Everything

When a recent tally of your dog's wardrobe reveals that he has four designer dog sweaters (three cashmere, one merino), three dog coats, one pet snood, one bathrobe, seven bandanas, one rucksack harness and no less than nine collar and lead sets… AND you haven't even totted up the content of the toy box, it's fair to say Basil doesn't want for much. However, when faced with such a challenge at gifting season, I say go less essential more luxury, less doggy business more fun. So to that end, I share this year’s wish list for the dog, who has (nearly) everything.

Dog-Friendly Fast Food in Shoreditch

Shoreditch and Hoxton were the original Fri-Sun party spots of my twenties, and even though the area has changed significantly sprawling London’s own Silicon Valley and chains a-plenty, I still have a lot of love for this area. When it comes to drinks, eats, shopping and fun the area still retains its appeal with loads of great spots to offer, and with its relaxed vibe it's a pretty good place to hangout with your hound too.

Pet Trend | Emojis and Smiley Faces for Dogs

Anyone who knows me can vouch for that fact that I talk ten to the dozen so emojis are definitely my kind of chat… and thanks to fashionable pet fun house FuzzYard, dogs are barking for emojis too.

Along with the Love Eyes, Eek, Tongue Out and Bahaha faces – the messy matter of poop has been given a smiley makeover too thanks to Harperandhugo.com, as shown above.

9 Pet Gift & Subscription Boxes Plus Special Offer & Giveaway

The pet gift and subscription box market has exploded with a variety of options to cater to a modern pet’s whim, and of course the owner’s convenience of having it delivered direct to their door. Affording your pet the opportunity to sample everything from treats to toothpaste, there’s even a service to keep you on top of your pet’s healthcare treatments.

As the title of this post suggests, these boxes can be purchased as a one off or for the gift that keeps giving - as a subscription, normally three, six or twelve months. The major plus for pet boxes is they favour new or quality products that you don’t tend to find in your local pet shop making it a real treat for your cat or dog.

We’ve rounded up nine pet gift and subscription boxes based on their quality and value for money. As with the beauty box companies, you will find some similarities between the boxes so which one you go for is a personal choice. However, we recommend digging around their website to see past boxes, weighing up what price suits and sniffing through their social media to weigh up what gang you want your pet to be part of. Plus many of the companies donate a portion of their sales to charity so let that be part of your decision too!
