Hounds, famous dog owners and celebs of the pup-loving kind hit the town on Monday night to show their sup-pawt for the annual Dogs Trust Honours Awards, which recognises dogs that have performed outstanding acts of bravery, dedication or devotion – and just like Dawn Porter and her dog Potato above, we were there to join them!
As far as the canine calendar goes the Dogs Trust Honours Awards is up there, as one of the biggest events of the year and for us first timers it did not disappoint. The duo won over judges and the public with their high-energy performance to the Mission:Impossible theme, and their win has scored 17 year-old Ashleigh and cross-breed Pudsey a whopping £500,000 prize. Top Dog Model (think X-Factor meets Britain’s Got Talent meets Britain’s Next Top Model) hopes to sniff out the UK’s hottest hound and award them with a modelling contract to become a high profile celebrity canine just like Elle Macpherson’s Labradoodle Bella Macpherson pictured above.
The May, Earls Court will bare close resemblance to Noah’s Arc when creatures great and small come out to play at the London Pet Show – an animal lovers heaven. Obviously, we’re most excited about their Discover Dogs zone, which promises an opportunity to meet lots of different dog breeds and watch activity such as Heelwork to Music, Agility, Obedience displays and flyball.
