Event Review: Record-Breaking Diva Dogs Day 2012


Hundreds of dogs were done up to the nines at the weekend at Diva Dogs Day to beat the existing world recordfor ‘most dogs in costumed attire’ and in the words of event organiser, Louise Harris, they ‘smashed it’ with a whopping 650 done up in all their finery!

Trendy Pooches Dog Grooming Salon and Spa in the Wirral is home to the K9000 - the UK’s first 24-hour coin operated, self-service dog wash. Already massively popular in the States, the K9000 Dog Wash caught the eye of entrepreneurial salon owner Glynis Stewart, who quickly spotted its' potential appeal for both her local clientele and passing trade, who flock to the area to enjoy dog walks along the nearby rural beach.

Event Review: The Canine Games 2012


At first it seemed that the Fido fun wasn’t going to go ahead according to plan for the inaugural Canine Games when the threat of bad weather switched the event from the park to the Bethnal Green Working Man’s Club. However, as plan B’s go, the canine competitors took the change in their four-legged stride. The last time we visited the BGWMC, we marvelled at a live chainsaw juggler (yes really) and a Chinese Elvis so a large and lively pack of pups sniffing around each other’s fancy-dressed behinds looked right at home in this popular East London haunt.
