It's no secret - we freakin’ love Winston of @WinnyTheCorgi Instagram fame. His smiley cuteness paired with his clever use of prop-age and puns are a source of joy in our day. Working with his human Rachel for Basil’s recent all-star photo-shoots means that we get to hang out with him fairly often too and we can confirm in addition to his good looks, he’s one swell guy.
With a Barkarama photo-shoot planned closer to my manor (Essex), we decided to ask Winston to join us. While refuelling at dog-friendly pub The Forrester’s Arms in Loughton, we quizzed Winston on what it's like to be him and to find out about the doggy business he’s been hiding under his collar.
B: How old are you?
W: anything but a terrible two on Sunday 24th July (today).
B: What breed are you?
W: Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Occasional Uni-Corg.
B: Where do you live?
W: East London with my human Rachel, who excels at catching my best side on camera.
B: Describe yourself in three words
W: Fun. Loving. Guy. FLG for short like my little legs.
B: What's your style tip?
W: work with your colouring. Blue, grey, black and green are my go-to hues. Orange and pink not so much!
B: And a dog model tip?
W: be patient and look confidently at the camera to reap those tasty rewards.
B: What is the secret to your houndsome good looks?
W: My ‘because I’m worth it’ lather of choice is Animology, as it keeps my fur soft and fluffy. The human also adds salmon oil to my food, which keeps me in the glossy posse. But like Lady Gaga sings: “Baby, I was born this way”.
B: You chose Wiggle Butt for your thRUFFtyPup tag. Care to explain?
W: When I’m happy my butt takes on a life of its’ own and wiggles uncontrollably.
B: Tell us a secret about yourself
W: I like to attack my dad’s farts.
B: What are your fave eats?
W: Lily’s Kitchen Liver Rewards and cheese, I’m a bit of a cheese connoisseur.
B: Where is your fave hound hangout?
W: London Fields. There’s the park, three pubs we like and Netil Market where my pals Fetch & Follow have a cool store. I love visiting them, as I score a bag of their crunchy dog biscuits and get to sniff some hot hipster butts.
B: If you an actual Royal Corgi for the day what would you do?
W: pee on the throne legs, nap on the Queen’s bed - like a boss, and chase the men in the furry hats. They're called Beefeaters right so I reckon they’d be tasty.
B: What has been your career highlight?
W: Going to Crufts as one of the Kennel Club’s Famous Dogs of Instagram. They seemed to think I was a bit best in show, which was nice for my ego.
B: Can you offer any words of advice for budding Instagrammers?
W: Be social, have fun and watch out for popular hashtags.
B: We hear you have some exciting news to share with our readers...
W: You bet ya! I’ve just launched my very own card range ‘With Love From Winny The Corgi’, which includes twelve of my favourite images paired with puns to showcase my dazzling wit. So now every household can have a Corgi – even if it’s in card form for now! I really hope your readers love them as much as I do.

THE PUB: The Forester’s Arms in Loughton, a lovely local pub edging on to the massive Epping Forest. We drove to it but from a quick look at the Walk It app, it’s about 1.5 miles from Loughton station on the Central line so you could walk there. The pub had a really welcoming atmosphere (dogs are allowed inside as well as in the garden), it’s has a fun and pretty décor (plenty of British themed items to suit the Corgi guest of honour) and tasty pub grub (we shared a hefty portion of bangers and mash). They also do Sunday roasts but you are advised to book in advance for that. Visit The Foresters Arms, 15 Baldwin’s Hill, Loughton IG10 1SF > Forestersarmsloughton.co.uk
