Pug-Life! Pugs & Pals Is Poppin’ Into London This Weekend (and six Pugs to follow)

Much to the delight of Pug Life devotees, Pugs and their pals are going to be descending on London this coming weekend for our favourite kind of pop up – a dog-friendly café but this one is in homage to the snortiest of the squishy facers, Pugs.

Pugs & Pals, will be throwing open its doors this October 27-29 for a pop-up in London’s Brick Lane before it hopes to officially open later this year. The weekend Pug-avaganza is set to brimming with festivities to celebrate and entertain Puggies, their peeps and squishy faced cousins Frenchies – and if you’re purely a Pug fancier, then you can get your Pug-Lovin fix too, as non-owners are welcome as well.

Beyond the tea, coffee, cake and dog-friendly fayre, there’s going to be Pugs and Cocktails (Pugcktails will be served), Pug High Tea, Puppy Hour, Pugloween and more.

Ensuring only the best for prized Pugs, an area of the café will also showcase some of the coolest pet buys including Barkarama faves, Growlees collar charms and petwear hipsters Lead The Walk, who'll be hosting a grooming and personal shopping on the Saturday morning.

Play is courtesy of PetsPyjamas who are supplying plenty of toys to keep Puggies and pals entertained when they are sniffing butt, snorting, slurping Pugg-cinos or dressing up for Pugloween. Should the party get too much for some, visiting Pugs will be able to bed down for the comfiest of pug-power-naps on Charley Chau beds, which Barkarama chief reviewer wholeheartedly endorses! Plus take a snap of your Pugs & Pals experience and post to Insta for the chance to win a one night getaway with your dog courtesy of PetsPyjamas Travel.

This stroke of dog fun genius is from the minds of real life Pug family Aida Martinez, Bartosz Kolodziejczyk and their 8-month old pug Mia (@therealpugmia). The pair credit the idea starting from the fact they both had busy lives and full-time jobs and were looking for avenues where Mia could socialise with other dogs. Pugs & Pals is collaborating with Pug Dog Welfare and Rescue Association, Muffin Pug Rescue and French Bulldog Saviours in various activities through the cafe, such as raising awareness of these breeds health conditions, fundraising and rehoming of some of their dogs. They’ll also donating a portion of the funds gathered by the events to help further support these charities.

During the pop-up trial weekend October 27-29, Pugs & Pals will be open daily 9am-9pm at Shop 7, Dray Walk, 80 Brick Lane, London E1 6QL. Operating on a strictly booking policy only, tickets are £5 for dog owners and £10 for dog lovers (per person) and cover entry to the cafe. Attendance to the special events need to be reserved. Entry and event spots are going fast, so if you want to pop down head over to Pugsandpals.co.uk pronto to book!

Now don't tell Basil but if he wasn’t a Boston, he’d be a Pug so I get my Pug-kicks elsewhere on Insta and here’s some of my faves to follow…
