If you thought festivals were just for revellers of the two-feet kind then think again. This weekend the trendy folk at Stoke Newington pet boutique Paws & Purrs are hosting 'Bark-it-Tude' – a one-day, doggy festival for fun-loving, hipster hounds and their owners to bark it up and woof out.
Taking place this Saturday 15th June from noon onwards, this exciting doggy extravaganza promises action-a-plenty with a Doggie Diner hosted by Lily's Kitchen, Pet Pawtraits, a puppy paddling pool (barkinis at the ready), a dog ice-cream stall, grooming demonstrations plus dog trainer Louise Glazebrook of The Darling Dog Company will be hosting a free workshop sharing her priceless doggy know-how to help you the best from your pooch. There’s also a shopping alley to pick up some gifts and treats for your favourite furry one, a feeding station for humans, free micro-chipping by the Dog's Trust (you gotta get 'chipped) and a book signing from dog world's famous blondes - Anna Webb and Jo Good of BBC London's Barking Hour.
Should your dog be feeling competitive, they can take part in the Paws & Purr's Dog Show to battle it out for coveted titles including the Waggiest Tail, Top party-trick, Best Hair-Do, Best Rescue Dog, Most fashionable festival-goer, Pup-star and the top dog prize - Best in Stokey. It’s free to enter but a £2 donation per category to the Dog's Trust is welcomed with opened paws.
Bark-it-Tude takes place this Saturday 15th June from 12noon until 5pm at Abney Hall, Stoke Newington Church Street, London N16 0AS. For details visit Pawsandpurrsonline.co.uk/barkitude.
