Barkarama Loves: Studio Legohead

SL-Main-Pic---NS-V2.jpg

Jo Chambers, the clever and creative gal behind Studio Legohead, has got some serious skills. She draws, paints, illustrates, embroiders, makes brooches and even designs quirky trophies. We’re most interested in her love of dogs, and how well she captures their personalities in her beautiful custom pet portraits.

To create your one-of-a-kind woof of art, Jo only needs a simple, quality photo of the dog in question, which she then transforms into a character-filled illustration using marker pens and fine liners.  Should you wish to give your pup a dash of dapper or a pinch of pretty, she’ll happily add an accessory such as a hat, bow tie or piece of jewellery to your dog’s portrait.

Studio Legohead’s less conventional custom work includes cardboard cut illustrations and embroidery. The cardboard designs see original illustrations drawn onto a card base and affixed to a cardboard stand so that your dog can become best in show on your mantelpiece, shelf or desk. Her embroidered work is created freehand using her 1940’s sewing machine, vintage linen, ribbon, thread, lace and reflective material.

New drawings to emerge from Studio Legohead are these beautiful dogs on repeat illustrations. Their future has not quite been determined but Jo is toying with ideas to make them into wrapping paper, fabric or possibly wallpaper – we’ll take all please!

For dog lovers who want a bite size taste of Studio Legohead’s work, ready-made designs start including greeting cards start at £2.50 upwards.
