Tilly’s Studio, a photo studio exclusively for dogs and their owners, approached us over summer to see if we’d be interested in giving Basil the experience of a professional photo-shoot. Naturally we leapt at the chance and within days found ourselves inside their hip and fun West London studios raring to go for Basil’s close up ...
The Tilly’s Studio experience is truly fantastic. Founder Gina and her assistant immediately put us at ease and quickly got to work, taking no less than 100 photos of Basil against many backdrops and with the use of a prop or two. We’re pleased to report that Basil looked right at home behind the camera, repeatedly pulling his best ‘Blue Steel’ on command. However, if your dog is less obedient, easily distracted or prone to getting nervous, Gina and her assistant are extremely patient, kind and coaxing with their subjects so you don’t need to worry about a thing.
While the professional shoot takes place, an extra camera follows your dog to capture off-duty moments such as a break on the sofa, a yawn or a soulful pair of puppy dog eyes. Today we share with you our behind the scenes moments, which we think are just perfect.
Tilly’s Studio was launched in January of this year inspired by Gina’s muse Tilly, a three-year-old Yorkie. Juggling a busy life and a passion for acting, Gina found spending lots of time with Tilly tricky. Fuelled by a desire to spend more time with Tilly and her general love for dogs, Gina got her thinking cap on and subsequently Tilly’s Studios was born. What a great idea it is, as there’s not all that many paid for experiences that you can enjoy with your dog.
For just £50 your dog gets to enjoy a one-hour, fun-packed photo shoot followed by a big screen viewing over tea, cake and biscuits in the studio lounge. You leave the studio with a keepsake of the experience, a 12” x “8 print with the option to buy other prints.
In tomorrow’s post, we’ll be sharing images from the main shoot so until then enjoy the wonderful behind the scenes shots from Basil’s visit to Tilly’s Studio and also visit Tillysstudio.com.
