The Green Interactive Feeder from Company Of Animals was one of our finds at last year's Discover Dogs, and we immediately bought into its ability to mentally stimulate your dog.
Designed to look like a patch of grass, scatter your dog’s food allowance across the green and watch him work for his biscuits, pushing the food out between the blades of grass with his snout. The by product of making meal-times more challenging is that it helps provide essential mental stimulation, therefore helping reduce unruly behaviour born out of boredom such as excessive barking or typical doggy destruction. It's great for dogs who wolf down their dinner at record speed because the process of working for their food prolongs eating time avoiding the risk of vomiting, gagging, gas, belching and potentially fatal 'bloat' disease.
Unfortunately this isn't a product we can purchase for Basil, as his squishy face would prevent him from burrowing out the goods, which is a shame given his 'gas' issues but it's definitely a worthwhile feeding product for most dogs. A one size fits all design, the Green Interactive Feeder is made of hard plastic (without phthalates), is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and is dishwasher safe.
