The launch comes as the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, Dogs Trust, reveals that 84% of owners let their dogs on the sofa, with 35% choosing to sit on the floor instead of moving their couch-conquering canines. And for their slippery sofa-stealing ways, the biggest four-legged offenders were revealed as the Labrador, Jack Russell Terrier, Staffie, Lurcher and the Border Collie.
The new ‘Cecil’ collection is the ultimutt canine covet – miniature sofas available in two sizes, which can be upholstered in a choice of sofa.com’s colourful brushed linen cottons, or our fave - Fenella Smith’s ‘Animals’ collection fabric, featuring pugs, dachshunds, pheasants or Labradors. And the icing the on the pup-cake is that 10% of the purchase price goes to Dogs Trust.
TO BUY: the Cecil is available on sofa.com, over the phone (03454002222) or from sofa.com’s showrooms in Chelsea and Bath. Prices start at £150 and for every Cecil sold sofa.com will make a donation to help homeless hounds in the care of Dogs Trust: £8 (regular) and £10 (large) in brushed linen cotton, and £23 (regular) and £27 (large) in Fenella Smith’s fabrics.
